Sometimes, the moment you finally slow down is the moment guilt shows up.

You pause. You choose yourself. You create a little space.

And almost immediately, a voice chimes in:

  • You shouldn’t get used to this.
  • There’s more you could be doing.
  • Someone else needs you.

For a long time, pressure has been mistaken for responsibility.

If you’re tired, it must mean you’re doing enough. If you feel stretched, it must mean you care.

So when things finally feel lighter, it can feel unfamiliar.

And that’s when guilt shows up—not because you’ve done something wrong, but because you’ve done something different.

Resting.
Pausing.
Choosing yourself without justification.

These aren’t indulgences.

They only feel that way when your worth has been tied to being useful.

Letting the pressure ease doesn’t mean you’re abandoning your responsibilities.

It means you’re no longer abandoning yourself.

And yes—that shift can feel uncomfortable before it feels normal.

So if guilt shows up the moment things feel lighter, let it pass.

You’re allowed to breathe.

When you’re ready, here’s how I can help:
