Transform Your Year by Going All In on What Matters

Jan 05, 2025

Read time: 3 minutes

Happy New Year, my friend! Welcome to 2025.

(Whoah… where is time going!)

With this being the first newsletter I’m sending you in 2025, I want to set the tone for the year ahead.

Too many of us start the year (every year) with the best intentions, but we never follow through. We make endless to-do lists, set lofty goals, and tell ourselves we’ll finally “get it together” this time. But somehow, by February, we’re back in the same cycle—overwhelmed, distracted, and feeling stuck.

Nothing’s changed.

You can’t keep living like this—spreading yourself too thin and chasing things that don’t truly matter.

The truth is, it’s time to stop playing small and go all in.

What to Focus On

If you want to go all in on anything, you have to know where to focus. You must get clear on what truly matters to you—your values, your purpose, the things that make you feel alive.

Think about it: What do you want your life to be about? What makes you feel energized, aligned, and fulfilled?

The more you can narrow in on these things, the easier it will be to say “no” to distractions and “yes” to what lights you up.

But here’s the catch: Before you can fully commit to going all in, you have to let go of what no longer serves you.

That means saying goodbye to:

  • Physical clutter in your space
  • Mental clutter in your mind
  • Subtle self-sabotaging behaviors
  • People pleasing
  • Planning every detail to perfection
  • People who drain your energy

You can’t move forward if you’re unwilling to fully let go of what’s keeping you stuck in the same cycle.

Going All In on What Matters

Now, here’s where the magic happens.

Once you’ve cleared the clutter—everything that is no longer serving youit’s time to go all in on the things that will propel you forward.

  • All In on yourself. Focus on personal growth, mindset, and skill development.
  • All In on your relationships—your real ones. The people who lift you up, challenge you, make you better, and encourage you to think bigger.
  • All In on your purpose. Pursuing a more meaningful career path that excites you beyond the paycheck. That creates space for you to prioritize life and what matters most to you.
  • All In on your mental, physical, and spiritual health. Building yourself so you can be a catalyst for others, spark action, and create a positive ripple in the world.
  • All In on protecting your energy. Saying yes to the things that light you up—saying no to the things that don’t.

When you go all in on these things, you’ll notice a shift. You’ll feel more energized, more focused, and more aligned with the life you want to create.

But going all in isn’t a one-time thing. It’s about consistency.

So, how do you keep the momentum going when life gets busy or challenging?

By showing up, day after day.

Start small. Break your bigger goals into smaller, manageable actions. Celebrate the small wins along the way. Surround yourself with people who support your journey. And remember, it’s okay to stumble as long as you keep going.

Consistency isn’t about perfection—it’s about showing up and doing the work to move the needle.

So, if you want to follow through this year on all your intentions and finally “get it together,” consider this simple exercise:

Each morning, before you open apps and check messages, answer this question:

What’s holding me back? What needs to be shed in order to make room for me to go all in on what truly matters? What’s the most obvious thing I can do today to align my life and work with my values?

Then dedicate the appropriate time to doing that thing. No distractions. No complications. No excuses.

The Bottom Line

2025 is your year to go all in.

It’s time to stop holding yourself back with distractions, clutter, and excuses. If you want to transform your life, it starts with one thing: commitment.

  • Commit to going all in on the things that truly matter to you.
  • Commit to shedding what no longer serves you.
  • Commit to doing the work, day in and day out, to build a life that aligns with your values.

It’s simple, but it’s not always easy. It requires courage, focus, and consistency.

But the reward? A life that feels intentional, energized, and full of purpose.

See you next Sunday.
