The doubt you feel? It means you’re close

Dec 10, 2025

Read time: 2 minutes

Ever noticed how the moment right before you do something meaningful is often the moment you feel the most uncertain?

The fear gets louder.

The doubt creeps in.

And suddenly, you’re questioning everything.

“What if I’m wrong?”

“What if I’m not ready?”

“What if I mess this up and regret it?”

I’ve been there—more times than I can count.

And for a long time, I thought that doubt meant I was doing the wrong thing. That if I were on the “right path,” I’d feel confident. Certain. Ready.

But I’ve learned something since then—something I hope sticks with you:

Doubt is loudest right before a breakthrough.

Not because you’re off track, but because you’re getting closer than you’ve ever been.

You’re stretching.

You’re growing.

You’re about to become someone you’ve never been before.

And that’s scary.

Because growth is uncomfortable—even when it’s exactly what you want.

So here’s what I’ve started doing:

When that doubt shows up, I pause and ask:

“What if this isn’t a red flag… but a green light?”

Because maybe that uncomfortable tension isn’t a warning to stop.

Maybe it’s a sign that you’re crossing a threshold—one that most people never do.

And the only thing between you and that breakthrough… is whether or not you keep going.

So, the action step I’d like you to embrace this week:

Think about the thing you’ve been hesitating on.

The decision, the conversation, the leap you’ve been waiting to feel “ready” for.

What’s one way you can make it a little less intimidating?

Maybe that means breaking it into smaller steps.

Maybe it means making the decision before you feel ready.

Maybe it’s trusting your next step—even if the whole path isn’t clear.

Being okay with messy progress instead of perfect timing.

Or simply sitting with the discomfort instead of running from it.

Whatever it is—do it today.

Not to prove anything to anyone.

But to remind yourself:

You can move forward even when your confidence wavers.

Because real growth doesn’t wait for you to feel brave.

It asks you to begin anyway.
