Some seasons ask us to move

Dec 28, 2025

Read time: 2 minutes

Some seasons don’t ask for more reflection.

They ask for movement.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately—especially in this current season of my work and business.

Not because reflection is bad.
Not because thinking things through isn’t important.

But because I’ve started to notice a subtle shift.

I’ve reflected a lot.
I’ve asked the right questions.
I’ve thought deeply about simplicity, alignment, and the changes I want to make.

And yet… there are moments where reflection feels less like clarity—and more like a hiding place.

That’s a strange thing to admit.

Because earlier in my journey—especially when I was deep in my decluttering process—action was the thing that created clarity. Letting go physically opened up space mentally. Movement came first. Clarity followed.

But this season feels different.

Now, the changes I’m circling aren’t just internal.
They’re visible.

Changing how I show up.
Clarifying my direction.
Letting my work look different than it has before.

And that kind of movement carries weight.

Because once you move, you can’t quietly undo it.

That’s when reflection can quietly turn into protection.

Not because you don’t know what to do.
Not because you haven’t thought it through.

But because deciding means committing—and commitment makes you visible.

Here’s what I’m realizing (and maybe this resonates with you too):

Reflection becomes a problem when it turns into an excuse for inaction.

There’s a moment when reflection has done its job.

When you already know what’s no longer aligned.

When the next step is clear—but uncomfortable.

When thinking more won’t change the truth, it just delays the decision.

That’s usually the moment the season has shifted.

Some seasons are for gathering information.
For exploring.
For sitting with questions.

But others quietly ask something else:

Choose.
Commit.
Move.

Not recklessly.
Not rushed.

Just honestly.

If you’ve been feeling stuck lately—even though, on paper, you’ve been productive—this might be why.

You’re not behind.
You’re not failing.

You may just be in a season that’s done asking for more thinking.

And if that’s true, here’s the permission I want to offer you today:

You’re allowed to move before everything feels certain.

Clarity doesn’t always come before action.

Sometimes it shows up because of it.

See you next Sunday, my friend.
