Searching for a deeper meaning

May 25, 2025

Read time: 2 minutes

New people are subscribing to this newsletter every day. And when they do, I ask them a simple question to help me get to know who they (you) are.

What’s happening in your world that led you to sign up for this newsletter?

I try to respond to every reply that hits my inbox, but even when I can’t—I definitely read all of them.

Here’s one I received a few weeks back that resonated deeply with me. I’m sure you’ll find it relatable:

“Well, I am searching for a deeper meaning/reason for having less, figuring out what is my ‘more’ with less clutter. What goals will it help me tackle when I have less inventory and more freedom? I’m struggling with being happy and fulfilled at work. I guess I’m on a journey to find what it is that fills my soul and not just my bank account.”

It quickly became clear to me what the core issue was, even without knowing all the details behind this person’s experience.

It’s a crossroad we all will meet at some point on our clarity journey.

Here’s how you ensure you make the right turn:

Pause and get clear on what YOU value.

I know, it sounds simple, but it’s the one thing that will make all the difference.

When you’re unsure of what truly matters to you, you’re bound to chase anything that looks good, without realizing you’re moving further from what you need.

And here’s the kicker.

If you’re not clear on your values, it’s hard to know what to focus on. Whether you’re feeling lost, drowning in clutter, or simply unfulfilled in your career, the root cause is the same: a lack of clarity on your core values.

This is where a lot of people get stuck. They keep going in circles, chasing success, achieving things, but feeling... empty.

So, how do you get clarity?

It starts with the hard work of getting honest with yourself.

Ask yourself: What do I really care about? Not what looks good to others, not what’s expected, but what genuinely fills you up.

What do you value?

Once you have that clarity, you can start making choices that lead to less clutter, less noise, and more of what truly matters. The kind of “more” that doesn’t come with baggage.

Now, I’ll be honest—it’s a journey.

And it’s okay if you don’t have all the answers right now. But the good news is you don’t have to wait to start.

Take one small step today to simplify a part of your life that aligns with what matters most to you.

That’s where the magic starts.

And that’s all for today!
