A question to reset your life (and get back on track)

Jun 16, 2025

Read time: 2 minutes

Before we unpack today’s topic…

Yes, this is arriving a little later than usual and I apologize about that. I took some time yesterday (and today) to be with my family for Father’s Day.

What’s the point of having core values if you don’t honor them, right?

Alright, onward!

I want to start this clarity letter with a question—one I’ve asked myself recently, and I found it pretty eye-opening:

If an outside observer watched me for a week, how serious would they say I am about achieving my goals?

You see, goals are easy to talk about, especially when you have big dreams.

But without a clear plan, without action, they remain just that—dreams. Wishes.

We’re already halfway through 2025, and if you’re like me, you’ve probably set some big goals this year. Maybe you’ve made progress, or perhaps you feel like you’re not as far along as you’d hoped. Either way, it’s not too late to reset and refocus.

So, what can you do to start moving the needle in the next six months?

It’s simpler than you might think: you need to break your goal down into smaller, actionable steps. It’s about having a plan that not only gives you direction but also helps you track your progress along the way.

Seeing each small win will bring you the relief of knowing exactly what needs to be done and the satisfaction of measurable progress. Each step will make you feel more focused, confident, and successful.

So here’s your challenge:

Take one of your current goals and break it down into smaller tasks with clear timelines and milestones.

Write it out. Get specific.

With 6 months left in the year, think of these tasks as monthly quests.

Whether it’s a project at work, a decluttering goal, or a personal milestone, create a roadmap with actionable steps.

Trust me, seeing that progress on paper (or screen) will make all the difference.

Why does this matter?

Because without action, a goal is just a sophisticated way of making a wish.

So let’s make sure that by the time we look back at the next six months, we’ll have tangible results, not just good intentions.

I’d love to hear what goals you’re working on and how you’re breaking them down into action. Feel free to reply to this letter—I read every message.

Here’s to making real progress!
